Applied relaxation helps in reducing somatic anxiety symptoms. This technique is also achieved through breathing which improves concentration and a state of mindfulness. The other evidence-based practice is the arousal-energizing technique which ensures optimal performance is paramount through self-talk, imagery, and goal setting. Biofeedback is al an EBP that psychologists can employ in controlling anxiety through self-assessment of the heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and muscle tightness.
