Abstract

[Name] A meeting is not just a meeting. On the contrary, the nature of the specifics ideas and advice given to each team defines the relevance of meeting in any given scenario. Among the significant specifics that determine a successful meeting is inviting the correct number of people designed for a specific session and selectively defining the nature of the topic to discuss in any particular meeting (Keith, 2017). However, I feel that Keith (2017) is biased in defining the board meeting format, thus disagrees with the authors’ argument on the informalities the text associate with board meeting structure. A board meeting is strictly grounded on strict rules and measures which make their formality remain defined at any given time. Based on the author, the board meetings that conduct such meetings in the stand-up designs prove informal based on the nature of their design and occurrence. I believe that regardless of the format that the board meeting occurs, whether a stand-up meeting or a two-three minute sitting forum, the rules that define the formality of such meeting s remains uncompromised. Members who hold board meetings are well aware of the rules and regulations that define such meetings. For this reason, the nature in which they hold board meetings should not be viewed or used as a justification of informalities of such meetings. Since board meetings are usually brief and on point, it remains imperative that the members prepare themselves in advance on the topic of the discussion. Choosing to sit or stand during the short duration of the meeting should not be viewed as a breach of the set rules and regulations that define such meetings' formality.
