ETHICS WRITE-UP SECTION 1: Importance of Following Good Ethical Practices as a Student Students attach their responsibility to academic success as one of the most important education objective. However, they also have a responsibility towards adopting good ethical practices. Ethics is an important aspect in education in integrating values, discipline, and integrity in students. Ethics regulates behaviors and helps student’s make the right decisions. One cannot manage it I n life without ethics since it is the foundation of living life. Ethics is a standard of measure of regulating morality creating boundaries between the teachers and the students. The AMA statement of ethics provides standardized ethical norms and values that governs academics practitioners, and students. The values and norms attributed by this association provide moral guidance on the behavior of a student. AMA stipulates guidelines to trust, preventing harm, and ethical values. By understanding the AMA code, students weigh the choices they make by consciously avoiding harmful actions or omissions hence living in an amicable environment and ensuring peaceful coexistence with other students and staff. Good ethical practices ensure that student act in good faith and exercising honesty in their academics. Ethical values teach students’ to be truthful at all times, which enhances their morality. AMA code teaches citizenship. Following this ethical practice, students acquire values on citizenship which entails protecting the environment, volunteering in charitable organizations, and advocating for equality for all. The FCBE code of professionalism for students regulates the students conduct in classroom, co-curriculum activities, and the academic environment. Following this ethical practice puts students in check in respecting their stay in school, participating in games, and improving their grades With this, students exploit their potentials and enhance academic performance.
