Uncovering the Theological Roots of Abrahamic Religions

Abstract

Theological factors that contributed for the origin of three Abrahamic religions According to the videos, the three Abrahamic religions all relate their faiths to one true God who used prophets and messengers to pass His message across. Some of them include Noah, Moses, and Abraham. Further, the contribution was facilitated by the fact that Abraham is a common patriarch in all three religions. Additionally, the old testament of the bible is common in the Judaism Holy Scriptures and the Quran. With this respect, they all are in harmony with the story of creation, insinuating that they all are one family of Adam and Eve. The influence of Judaism on the other two succeeding religions (Christianity & Islam) In both videos, Judaism is considered the first religion among the three; therefore, it could be termed as the other two religions' mother. Thus, Judaism upholds the ideology of a single omnipresent God who is the creator of the universe, the sustainer of life who commands his subjects to obey and worship Him alone, meaning that worship of that God is critical for their faith. When Christianity and Islam came up with their ideologies, they took the same and did the same. The only difference was in the messiah's doctrines, but the original script remains the same. Similarities or shared theological aspects all three religions agree in common. All three religions believe that God is the creator of the universe, and He is the ultimate judge. Further, they believe in God's total obedience, which is expressed through worship, prayer, and moral living upon which all must obey without question, and it is only God who would judge them as per their devotion.
