Abstract
[Name] History – Last Homework assignment April 29, 2021 Based off of the data chart, the three slaves with the most outmigration in the 1810s are [City, State] and Maryland. The 3 states with the most immigration are [City, State], and Tennessee. Planter migrations and the slave trade increased as US slaveowners narrowed down on control over the lower parts of the Mississippi Valley by suppressing what is called a “slave revolt” in 1811. Which is the act of slaves being rebellious in an armed uprising by enslaved people, as a way of fighting for their freedom. The chart shows us 1200 outmigration’s and 1200 immigrations. This ended all threats against the U.S. sovereignty in the region through the extensive War of 1812. There is a difference between emigration and immigration, Emigration is migration from a location. Immigration is the migration to a location. Based off of my background knowledge that I have on the topic, between 1820 and 1920, around 32 mil folks immigrated to the U.S. Most of these migrants were from Europe. Between the 1840s and 1850s, due to economic push factors and political unrest in Germany, immigrants to the U.S. were mainly from Ireland and Germany. I wasn’t able to view the “Sick and Wounded Soldiers” map too well. Activity 2: What population density patterns do you see on the map and how do these correspond to or conflict with what you already know about slavery prior to and during the Civil War?
