Abstract

Historical Theme Paper; Colombus Description of the Discovery of America Analysis of American history is the most interesting fact in this millennial. Scientists have had many theories to prove the origin and shape of the earth, but Columbus's discovery was never too scientific but molded American history. Various myths surround the voyages Columbus made to America, with the journey exemplifying multiple historical themes. The civilizations, including political, social, and economic empowerment, that graced America at the time prompted the discovery. The New World was influenced by apocalyptic drama and Puritan settlers who shaped the various beliefs.America was initially a secluded land that the world did not understand; however, Northern America was open to the world. It created a platform in which the world could explore at it was colonized based on geographical knowledge entailing geographical features such as mountains, valleys, landmarks, and water bodies. Traders from various parts of the world traveled to America to establish a ready market while scrambling for industrial products and raw materials. Colombus was a religious man who had his exploration journey intertwined with Religion. His goal was to spread his beliefs and faith in God, which was the primary reason for his exploration. The most exciting aspect is that Columbus spread his religious motives and political ideologies very strategically. Columbus’s Description of the Discovery of America exemplifies the theme of Religion because of his deeply strategic spiritual ambition in delivering the message of Jesus Christ to the world. Religion is a long-lasting force that vehemently influenced the creation of America. Columbus was a peaceful man and spread his ideologies of faith with love. His son and close associates attested that; “He observed the fasts of the church most faithfully, confessed and made communion often, read the canonical offices like a churchman or member of a religious order, hated blasphemy and profane swearing, was most devoted to Our Lady and to the seraphic father St. Francis; seemed very grateful to God for benefits received from...
