Instructor’s Name Due Date Most people do not know where the food they eat comes from Food Inc is an informative documentary that lifts the veil of the food production system in the United States. The documentary emphasizes how the system has changed drastically over the past 50 years, exposing the ugly truth hidden in the food production system. Food Inc. stresses the fact that food is factory-oriented rather than farm-oriented; "The industry doesn't want you to know the truth about what you're eating because if you knew you might not want to eat it (Kenner, 2008)." What people are allowed to know and say remains a fallacy. Food Inc. stresses a lot of issues on the flawed food production system. Food industrialization is inhumane to animals and people. Food production systems are employed in food industrialization with the 1qaim of cheaper, fatter, and faster foods without thinking about the environmental conditions of animals and health of humans. I choose to talk about the industrialization of food production which is inhuman health-wise and environmentally and economically unsustainable. The rampant cases of health issues such as obesity attributed to unhealthy food give me a reason to choose the unhealthy effects of food production systems. Most of the food in the supermarket and grocery stores has been industrialized just like fast food. Healthy food is no longer available anymore. Food Inc. unveils the flawed production of corn, meat, and vegetables. Companies are profit-oriented and strive to produce large amounts of food and create bigger animals within a short period using harmful chemicals. Tyson, a large food production company, has its chicken redesigned with larger breasts and grows in half the time it used to. Animals who should be fed with grass such as fish and cows are not forced to feed on corn causing digestion problems which susceptible to E. coli in food sources.
