Solving the Teacher Shortage Crisis in New Mexico: Strategies for Attracting and Retaining Educators

According to UNESCO, education systems prove as good as the teachers who provide the hand-on-schooling as robots can never match the quality of education that human teachers offer regardless of technological advancement. To this effect, the need to analyze concrete solutions to the teacher shortage problem in New Mexico is the key to understanding how to remedy the global teacher shortage issue. According to a report compiled by Garcia and Weiss (2019), the teacher shortage is real, growing, and worse than anyone would think of across the globe. These authors further confirm that lack of quality certification, relevant training, and experience serves as the major indicators that define the severity of the teacher shortage problem worldwide.
