Abstract

Student’s Name Professor’s Name 29th April 2021 Maxine Greene’s Ideologies/theories Theory of Value This ideology focuses on the knowledge and abilities which should be worth learning. These are the things that push an individual to have contemplative experience with variety of art work with the ability to trigger, to influence people to observe, to listen to and to experience repeatedly in unforeseen methods. Contemplative experience with art work has the ability to pull people towards themselves (Greene, 60). Human beings should rise to the occasion of continuing their endeavours to create ethical, sympathetic and worthwhile democracy. This theory describes the goal of education as a way of assisting learners to recognize their strong bond to personal and global responsibility. People are mandated to have access to information academic potential required to understand the world. Some of these knowledge include, “… being able to express oneself in a number of different “language”—including imagery, music, dance (Greene, 57). Democracy does not stand for lack of responsibility since freedom can only be achieved when we take charge of the responsibilities. Theory of Knowledge Knowledge is described as any factor that assists in understanding ourselves and the world, “… it is a process of meaning making” (Greene, 74). It is differentiated from the concept of belief since it comes from the idea that has encountered reflection, “we articulate what we believe and what we share” (Greene, 69). Mistake is when we are still unsuccessful even after reflection while lies are the things that are believed without going through reflection. The actions that suppress the imagination generate lies. Theory of Human Nature This theory recognizes human nature from the objective vision or goal they participate in. Human can be differentiated from other species by their ability to view individual behaviours and the world decisively.
