The projects promote critical thinking to apply lessons learnt in the classroom to solve complex problems the learners encounter on a daily basis. Additionally, the problems involve the use of innovative approaches to discover and explore solutions to problems in the classroom. Teaching the STEM curriculum involves guiding students to explore their own methods of developing solutions to problems in the classroom. Implementing the project approach to the STEM curriculum involves guiding students to share their views and respect the perspectives of other learners in the classroom. Students are taught to apply soft skills to communicate their views on problems in the classroom and share their in the classroom to meet project goals. Through the project approach, the students learn to apply different approaches to solving problems and that no single approach is correct. As opposed to traditional lecturing methods, the project approach teaches hand-on skills that students can use to solve complex challenges in their day-to-day lives.
