According to (Mindset and Education Reform « The New York Times in Education, 2021), “Our system limits our ability to identify glaring problems that we can overcome and deny the fundamental human right to allow every person to reach their full potential. The solution is an entrepreneurial mindset.” Society has narrowed us to conform to inferiority, yet we have the full potential we have to exploit. An entrepreneurial mindset promotes thinking outside the box; it is intuitive and yearns to explode to change. This analogy relates to today's educational structure that is outdated that suppresses critical thinking, imagination, exploration, innovation, and experimentation. The nation needs this mindset where our children will be bold, with creative solutions for societal problems. We need educational reforms that cultivate this type of mindset. Education is an essential aspect of the success and future of a nation. The American education system has become a subject of debate in recent times due to its bureaucracy and many systematic problems. Free public education is the most prevalent in the United States, where tax is levied on the citizens by the government to fund the schools. Education needs a top priority in every nation, i.e., quality education to ensure children utilize their potentials. Every country believes in having a good education but does not know what it means when they yearn for it. Public education needs to be remarkable and do more than it does by preparing the students for their careers and the future. The most system of education is the standardized method. It entails teaching the same things to different children all over the country. This education system is more of passing a test than learning and equipping skills necessary to create a successful future. The United States needs to embrace the entrepreneurial mindset that focuses on the revolutionary notion of multiple intelligences. This paper discusses the American education system as an outdated system following its lack of creativity, standardized testing, inequality, poor teaching methods, and a shoddy curriculum hence the need for education reforms. Standardized testing needs to be reformed in public education. Using this concept, teachers focus more on the preparation of tests at the expense of actual learning. The students will not understand a concept; the focus is directed on the test. Teacher evaluation depends on how the students perform. This method inhibits teacher potential as they can stop trying new techniques and teaching methods useful for their students. Measuring students based on scores impact their confidence; it judges their ability, yet it is administered once a year. How can one mere exam determine success? Many factors hinder the performance of students. For instance, cultural influences, anxiety, and even sickness. Students memorize the tests and pass the exams but forget everything after the test. What is the need for such a method of education? Assessment made based on a score is challenging to ascertain when these scenes are involved. Standardized testing is a sham. It has nothing to do with memorizing, attention, and processing speed; hence, reforms need to be made to enhance quality and good education. Allocation of school funds in most states depends on the performance of schools. This analogy is vague and bogus. How will the government promote equality in schools? Schools strive by any means to ensure they get wealthy by attaining high scores. Low income is associated with poor grades. It creates rifts between public schools, and students cannot perform due to disparities. Money that low-income schools get is used for necessities in schools such as building and construction. In contrast, the high-income schools equip their libraries and rapid technological advances, yet all are public schools. The government's reliance on test scores for development purposes and servicing the needs of the students is a lie, for it is a threat to the students, the economy, and the future nation.
