Abstract

Power Point Final Guidelines I would like to give some details to assist with your final presentation.  This is a supplement to the assignment instructions not a replacement. Grading: Please review the rubric when planning your paper. This allows you to see where points are allocated and also how I will assign points to your assignment. To give you additional clarity, when grading assignments I open your presentation in presentation format so I only see your slides and hear your voice and a printed copy of your executive summary and a digital version of your voiceover for reference.  I review the objective and should see your answer on the slide. I make notes and then review the notes section to ensure that you have properly supported your answer. IMPORTANT: YOUR ANSWER SHOULD BE CLEAR AND PROMINENT on the slide.  In a professional presentation, you would not want your audience searching for your answer so make sure you have it on your slide. For this presentation, you should be giving enough details on the slides and complementing it with your notes and voiceover. You should treat these assignments as if you are briefing the leadership of the company. Once you complete your voiceover script …PRACTICE… PRACTICE…PRACTICE.  Practice in the mirror, it shows in your presentation when you exude confidence when presenting your information. In your assignment folder turn in 3 files your PowerPoint presentation with corresponding notes in the notes section and voice over, your voice over script, and the executive summary.   Voiceover Script: The script should be neat, organized, and easy to read.  Feel free to use headers to organize the material.  The overall goals is to ensure that if your audience has to review this document they can easily find the information. Executive Summary: Use the business memorandum format from week 1. You should include the following information: introduction to the situation, problem statement, solution, what your presentation presents (goal of your presentation), slide outline, conclusions, and call to action for management. This should be no more than 2 pages. Slide Outline should be bullets. Each bullet point should have the phase and subject for the slide.  This is similar to an answer key for your presentation and tells an executive where they could go in your presentation for content. For example: Part One: Situation Analysis – SWOT Analysis   Slides: Your slides should have bullet points, be short concise and to the point.  Leave the lengthy explanations, full sentences, and support for the notes section. Your notes section should also be organized and not one long run on sentence.  Consider using headers for this as well.  Also ensure that your formatting and layout are neat and professional.   The use of graphics is fine, however, remember this presentation has only 15 slides so it would need to be something that adds value to your presentation or explanation.   You have 15 slides to complete the entire assignment with three parts; only information that enhances your analysis should be on your slide ...no fillers. This outline is a suggestion not a rule. I am concerned that with the assignment instructions not giving a slide allocation that some students may focus more on easier concepts instead of allocating the slides accordingly. This assignment is about your analysis so general information will not yield you any credit only your analysis and information that supports your analysis is appropriate and everything should be related specifically to the case study details. Throughout the presentation, make sure that you discuss roles such as individual, team/group, and management/leadership, the strategies are not one size fits all, everyone in the organization has to play their part to make this work.
