Understanding My Personality: An INFJs Reflections on Family, Culture, and Identity

Abstract

Reflection [Name] [University] PSY-350 [Name] March 26,2023 The results of my Jung Personality test from the Humanmetrics website determined that I was INFJ. Introvert twenty five percent, intuitive twelve percent, feelings sixteen percent, and judging one percent. My family’s only language is english which we all speak. When it comes to preference in food I would say Southern American food. When it comes to music we all have pretty drastically different taste in genres. I prefer older music that resembles soul or R&B which is similar to other siblings. Activity wise I am the most physically active in my family. My family’s relationship is only close to each other. By that I mean we only really interact with each other and some members of the family never leave the house besides for work and mundane life chores. Religion isn’t a large part of my family, but we all are christian. My family is nothing but a bunch of introverts that do nothing, but waste their life going to work. They never travel, never been out of the country, they never at a table together even. I can tell where some of my personality comes from by being introverted. I tend to hold friends, but find it challenging to get to know people on a deeper level. This personality type did hit right on spot. I do suffer from being a perfectionist and everything I do feels as though it could just be better. It does explain why I love being a teacher since my personality type excels at careers that require creativity and intuition. I didn’t become aware of my own race or others around me until I was 4 years old. Around this time is when I started pre-school. By the age of four, most would be able to identify people in their life and how they look. Going to school for the first time made me aware of how different people can look. Personally, my idea of race isn’t subjective. People can have physical characteristics that may make them look a certain race but they actually aren’t. I...
