OEDIPUS THE KING RESEARCH PAPER (PART II) Due Date: 11 APRIL 2022 (Sunday Night, before Midnight) Format: Typed (Word-Processed, Courier New 10-point—Double-spaced) Instructions: The Second Part of the Research Paper will require students to select THREE JOURNAL ARTICLES from the TEN provided on CANVAS. Students must read their chosen Journal Articles and then type a TWO-PAGE SUMMARY for each article, so that there are six pages of summaries altogether. Each Article Summary must be headed with the title of the Article and Name of the Author. After each Summary, students must then answer the following Questions, in Q & A Format: What is the Thesis or Argument of the Article? Cite this thesis or argument in Quotation from the Article. What main evidence does the Author use to support the Argument? Do you believe the Author makes a good, solid case for the Argument? Why or why not? What could make the Argument better, in your opinion? What did you learn about Oedipus the King as a result of reading the Article? How do you intend to use the Argument in the Research Paper Part III? (Which of the Five Character Traits of the Tragic Hero best fit with the Argument in the Article?) Note: It is recommended that students begin this Part of the Research Paper by answering the Questions first for each Article, and then writing the Summaries on the basis of those Answers. For example, the First Question asks about the Thesis or Argument of the Article. Students can answer that question and then use that information to write about a paragraph worth of Summary. A good structure for writing the Summaries is to give about one paragraph of response for each of the five Questions answered in the Q&A Format, so that the TWO PAGES OF...
