Abstract

Instructor’s Name The youth are the face of the future, and their vigour and passion are attributed to incredible achievements. The country needs to redirect its energies to Youth appraisal to create creativity, innovation, and productivity. Americans believe that they live in a land of equality and equal opportunities, yet there is an alarming racial and ethnic discrimination rate. Equality in the United States is diminishing daily. The fight for equality is a continuous battle. Proposed legislation to abhor and refute youth minority outreach and training programs to get good jobs and enter college is a joke. Allegations that deter them from opportunity that everyone has an equal chance to succeed in America is false. The youth minority deserves special treatment to fulfil the American dream. They are the most vulnerable to the inequality gaps in the American community. According to (Byrne et al., 2020), the minority in the United States face inequality in the employment sector, education, and the criminal justice system. Many social factors hinder minority youth from fulfilling their dreams of getting an education or a job. The achievement gap between the people of colour and whites is widening, yet this plight is being refuted. The analogy that America is an equal society and that special outreach programs to train and educate youth should be abolished is an abomination. The colour line is still evident in American society. It is evident our institutions, for instance, in the education and employment sectors. It is evident from personal experiences that discrimination is ongoing, becoming a major disadvantage to minority groups. Allocation of opportunity depends on knowledge and skills, yet there are gaps in educational achievement in society. According to (Gustafson 2020), the United States education system is the most unequal in the industrialized world, with students receiving different learning opportunities based on their social status. The plight of poverty is seen as an individual responsibility, and the society nor the government has no one to blame for lacking necessities in the US. According to (Royce 2018), the American dream is defined by traits, values, morals, and ideologies to succeed, and those who do not follow this criterion are deemed poor. Poverty is regarded as a state of mind and an individual failure. The analogy alienates the poor minorities from accessing education and new skills. The concept of poverty goes beyond an individual. It stems from the difficulties the people have to go through to find a place in society. Appropriate legislation should be enacted to provide incentives to schools that lack quality teachers and best teaching techniques to fill this discriminatory gap. African Americans According to (Carey 2016), minority youth are not expected to obtain a college education after high school. Most of the minority youth hail from low-income and uneducated families, limiting their access to education. The lack of motivation from family members and discouragement put into them limits their access to opportunity in American society. Along with social expectations of getting married and having children, education becomes an option. Minority youth are willing to pursue their dreams and get a better future. There is a need to enact lobby groups to sensitize education and skills to get a job. The youthful age is an age of independence and focus. Individual skills, preferences, and interests become evident. When there is a lack of opportunity ad enlightenment on their way, they tend to deviate. Minority youth need outreach programs to help them exploit their potentials. They are a basis for promoting a positive ethnic-racial identity for the youths The international standard supposedly ranks the United States as a wealthy country, but ideally, poverty is an aspect of consideration that affect minority groups in the United States. The poor minorities are born in endless cycles of poverty, and they have no opportunity to prove their capacities and create a better future. Poverty increases desperation and the desire to thrive. The minority families are victims of inadequate food, housing, and education needs. According to (Cancian & Reed 2021), income varies according to race ethnic lines, with 19.5% of black families living in poverty. Children from such families are not destined to explore and grow the country. Some minorities can access quality education to break generational poverty or decent access to jobs to improve their living standard. Such youth have potential but lack the education to put them at the top-notch. Proposing legislation to deter them from accessing opportunities is a slap on their face. Most youth hail from dysfunctional families, therefore, lacking...
