Abstract
The Secret to Success By Kevin Hart Kevin Hart, a comedic actor and writer, is the one who gives the entertaining speech in The Secret to Success. Throughout this talk, Hart outlines his own path to success and emphasizes the significance of putting in plenty of effort, being determined, and having faith in one's own abilities ( Huguley et al. 6). He connects with his audience and convinces them to accept his perspective on success through the use of many different types of rhetorical methods, including ethos, logos, and pathos. When it comes to establishing his trustworthiness and credibility in the eyes of his audience, Kevin Hart relies heavily on the usage of ethos. He recognizes his accomplishment as well as the numerous awards that he has earned, but he also places a strong emphasis on the amount of hard work, tenacity, and commitment that went into earning that achievement(Ugdymas 1851). In his speech, he stated that "I've been there, I've done it, and I continue to do it." This demonstrates to the audience that he is qualified to talk on the subject of success since he has both the experience and the knowledge necessary. In addition, he demonstrates that he has triumphed over adversity by addressing the difficulties he encountered along the way, including the fact that he is of a relatively short height. Because of this, he is able to connect with his audience, many of whom may be struggling with similar obstacles in their own lives ( Huguley, 13). With the disclosure of his own personal challenges and the methods by which he conquered them, he creates a relationship with the audience and indicates that he is aware of the challenges that they face. Kevin Hart also creates his ethos by making the audience laugh through the use of comedy, which is another method. He is able to connect with the audience and elicit a good emotional reaction through the use of his humor, which contributes to his success as a comedian(Erigha 408). This not only assists in establishing a connection with the audience but also makes them more open to the message that he is trying to convey. Kevin Hart's use of ethos is, in general, a crucial component of the compelling language he employs in his speeches (Ugdymas 1858). With the use of his own personal experiences to demonstrate his credibility and trustworthiness, as well as his use of comedy to connect with the audience, he is able to forge a strong connection with them as well as leave them more open to the message that he is trying to convey. The word "logos" refers to the act of appealing to rational thought and reasoning. The employment of logos as part of Kevin Hart's persuasive rhetoric in his speech is an integral component of that rhetoric(Ugdymas 1856). He supports his statements with rational reasons and, by doing so, makes his message approachable and practical for the people who are listening to him. One example of his usage of logos is the way he often stresses the significance of putting forth effort. He emphasizes that there is no easy way to be successful and that in order to be successful, one must consistently work hard and dedicate themselves (Huguley et al. 12). This line of reasoning is persuasive to the audience since many of them have likely dealt with the difficulties that come with putting in long hours and being dedicated in their own lives. Kevin Hart strengthens the persuasiveness of his argument by appealing to the audience's sense of logic and reasoning when he stresses the significance of putting in a lot of effort. Kevin Hart emphasizes the need of consistency by including logos in his stand-up routine. He emphasizes that success is not a one-time occurrence but rather a daily routine that one must engage in. By doing so, he appeals to the audience's sense of reason and logic, which makes his message more approachable and practical for the audience (Erigha 398). He illustrates his point with specific instances, such as his daily training program, which he has kept up for years despite the fact that he has achieved a great deal of success as a result of his constancy. This methodical technique helps to make his message more persuasive and motivational for the people who are listening to it. In addition, Kevin Hart explains his outlook on achievement via the usage of the logos metaphor. He stresses the significance of being willing to take chances and learning from past mistakes, both of which are rational reasons that are persuasive to...
