By doing so, I aimed to understand not just the content of my friend’s message but also the underlying feelings and needs. I also utilized “loving speech,” striving to respond with kindness and compassion. When my friend expressed self-doubt, I offered supportive words, acknowledging their feelings without judgment. This practice reflects Hanh’s teaching that “the foundation of love is understanding,” emphasizing the importance of empathetic communication in nurturing relationships.
