Ace Your Research Paper Assignment: 10-Page Minimum, APA Format

Abstract

Research Paper Assignment You will be required to complete your research paper assignment before the end of the semester. This assignment will be worth 50 points. Due Sunday 5/9 by 11:59pm **This paper should be 10 pages minimum with your cover page and references page counting as only one page each of the page requirement. This means that even though your reference page may be more than one page long, it will only count toward one page of the 10 page minimum requirement.** General Comments on Formatting: Please be mindful that every page must have a page number at the upper right hand side of the page in the header section and an abbreviated title in the header on the left hand side of the page. This is referred to as a “Running head:”. DO NOT put the abbreviated title/running head and page number in the footer or at any other part of the page and make sure that the formatting of your paper is typed, double spaced, and in 12 point Times New Roman font. Your document must be submitted in a Microsoft Word Document. If you do not have Microsoft Word on your home computer, please consider writing the paper in google docs and exporting the file as a Word document. Please note that as mentioned in class, you do not have to write an abstract or author note in your paper. **Components/Sections that your paper must include: APA Style Cover Page – This page as with every page in the document includes a header that shows an abbreviated title for your paper. The center of the page should include the title of your paper, your name, your institution, in this case that’s LA Valley College, and the date of your submission. Do not include any graphics, oversized text, or stylized text other than standard Times New Roman 12 point font. Introduction (Literature Review) – This is the part of the paper that you will likely be most familiar with. Include a summary of all relevant research you are citing from peer-reviewed journal articles. Build your argument for why you need to research what you are proposing you should research. Do this by saying that previous authors’ works have led you to your question that, thus far, has not been researched, or has not been researched with enough detail.
