Abstract

Communication in my Career: Field Interview Report Communication is two-way traffic. Two or more parties must engage in a conversation whose understanding of each other defines the flow of any form of communication. In this case, the ability to convey the text as intended represents effective communication amongst communicators. Then, what is communication? Communication is the exchange of ideas and information from one communicator to the other through which the ability to convey the text as intended defines success in communication as enhancing the flow of the conversation. In an interview with Alexis Casillas (Uncle), an athletic trainer at Alexander high school, it was open that effective communication requires incorporating verbal and non-verbal skills to allow the flow of information without creating unnecessary tension among communicators. Analysis of the audience is another crucial area of relevance during communication as understanding parties to communicate with help in understanding the best topic that fits the demands of the target audience, the most convenient tone and the mode of communication, whether face-to-face or virtual modes. According to Papadopoulos (2019), unlike verbal communication, which considers words as the key to delivering the intended message, interpersonal communication is much more than just the unambiguous meaning of words, the information, and the messages. Unfortunately, most communicators ignore the non-verbal aspect during communication, derailing success in conveying the text as intended. Non-verbal communication is the art of communicating with signs, gestures among other means that do not necessarily require audible wording, the need to understand how best to apply it, when to apply it and to who serves as the only way through which proper interpretation of the used non-verbal expressions can be achieved. Having defined non-verbal skills allows a person to understand others and be understood in any given conversation. As Casillas puts it, the athletes sometimes do not need to hear...
