The article became published on 11th Oct 2018 implying that it contents has been available online for the last 3 years. Such a timeline defines the legibility of considering the arguments therein in response to this projects topic of study. All the authors of this article works in the Department of Communication Wayne State University which defines their legibility in analyzing communication related issues most especially regarding human relationships. These authors have vast knowledge in psychology attributed to their exposure in the communication department which allows them to understand human psychology especially in relationships in a great manner. In their article, these authors employ the media multiplexity theory and cultural dimension model to analyze the application of information communication technology in maintaining long-distance relationships. The article concludes that the advancing technology plays a major role in enhancing satisfaction amongst long-distant partners as communication remains unhampered. This article proves essential in my projects as has so much information that proves of relevance in enhancing closeness and improving long-distance relationships through different ICT modes of communication. It is an article published in the Journal of Relationships Research. The journal became publicly published in 2020 which defines the eligibility of its contents since has only been in use for the past one year. Its arguments remains valid and of great relevance with regard to this projects topic of study. Its authors have vast knowledge in research which makes their argument viable as grounded on defined facts from present and past research regarding communication and long-distance relationships. Hammonds, Ribarsky and Soare argues that since geographical separations between partners occurs for a variety of reasons, the need to understand the best mode of communication remains essential in ensuring a viable relationship in the long-run. They confirm that lack of intimacy serves as the most challenging problem in long-distance relations which can only be addressed through employment of the most appropriate mode of communication amongst partners. For this reason, they conclude that with advancing technology, long-distance partners can employ emoji to express their feelings and use most viable video chats to express their intimate feelings towards each other.
