Abstract

Module 3 Discussion: Developmental Theories Chapter 8 and 9 A perfect score in SAT implies that an individual is able to balance maths and Evidence-based Reading/writing earning 800 in both. Someone that has such a perfect score has great educational development background and emotional support from family and friends. Such a character proves highly intelligent and talented. One may express such abilities through acquired mental, psychological and financial support from family and friends. Kindness, empathy an altruism are among the major positive behaviours that such people exhibit as they borrow from family and social characteristics that supports such positive attributes making them self-confident, self-effacing and self-motivated. They remain intellectually curious and excited about learning new positive things making their lives interesting. In short, having a high SAT implies that such a person had very involved parents, guardian or a parent in their lives. They ended up in nice schools, participate very much and remain liked throughout their childhood shaping their positive attitude towards education making them shine. However if I hear that someone else is a serial killer the firsts thought that comes on my mind is a poor or traumatizing upbringing shaping the criminal being. A person embraces the social environmental factors exposed to during childhood and as they grow up, such triggers shape their ill-being. Broken families, abusive families and traumatizing experiencing like beatings are among the major factors that a family or social circles can expose to a character shaping their criminal being. Based on social learning theory, environmental factors that one becomes exposed to plays a significant role in shaping violent or abuse nature of a criminal. In such a case such serial killer may have experienced hardships while growing up from abusive natures of the parents and worsened the feeling through...
