Expanding Educational Opportunities: Bright Academys Strategic Positioning in Panther County

Abstract

While I find that focusing on Citrus Bend is imperative also including Manatee cove which also has high crime rates, lower employment rates, and low graduation rates should be included. Positioning Bright Academy between the two cities of Manatee Cove and Citrus Bend within Panther County serves needs in both communities pulling in merit based students from both areas of the county. Additional information such as distance from Panther City another community in need but in the opposite direction of both Manatee Cove and Citrus Bend would be important in this fictional county. Understanding if the Academy is able to provide transportation and additional space to those students within Panther City would be informative to determine if the Academy should focus on student only from Manatee Cove and Citrus Bend if not financially feasible to transport students from another corner of the county. Understanding the make-up of the community's demographics such as family size and age demographics would also come in handy to determine where the additional need is located. Additional information such as the location of other technical colleges and community colleges to partner with for the school's dual enrollment program. Another need the school could possibly provide is a nursery and or daycare center for single parents if the need is present. Parenting classes with a focus on attachment styles, mentorship programs, and other social community needs such as an on-site food pantry and laundry services.
