Directions: This final paper will provide you with an overall view of the counseling techniques you have been introduced to this semester by comparing and contrasting these techniques in this paper. During this course, you have been introduced to many counseling theories and techniques. For this assignment, you will be provided with two case studies. Select only ONE client and apply two of your preferred theories of counseling to this one client. You will be comparing and contrasting your techniques by providing possible outcomes when working with your client. Below are specific questions to answer in your paper. You may use these seven numbers as subheadings to organize your paper. Explain what some of the issues/concerns that your client presents. How do you conceptualize this client’s problems through the selected theories? Describe the goals of your techniques of psychotherapy and the specific goals of therapy for this particular client. For your selected theories of intervention, how does the approach facilitate the client’s change? Describe the roles and functions of your role as the therapist within your selected theories. What techniques would you use as the therapist to help the client achieve their goals? How comfortable would you be in counseling your client from your techniques? What challenges might you face in working within the framework of your approaches with your client? Evaluate the theories you selected strengths and limitations form your perspective (as therapist) and that of a client.
