Abstract
Course name Instructor’s name Assignment due date Application of the PRECEDE–PROCEED Model The model for designing health and wellness programs determines the effectiveness of the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the intervention. The PRECEDE-PROCEED model has four assessment phases and four implementation and evaluation steps. With the limited resources, funding, and time for the program, John has to determine the possibility of implementing each of the steps in the model (Kim et al., 2022). The model has precise requirements on the activity involved in each phase and requires the individuals to follow the steps during the diagnosis and implementation. It is necessary that John evaluates the viability of each phase and how it applies to the current issue to avoid encountering problems. John can conduct the social assessment phase by using a representative sample of the 6,000 employees to determine the potential for social problems to affect health outcomes. Since the goal of the program is to improve stress management, the social factors affecting the employees have significant implications of the implementation strategy for the program. John should evaluate how the subjective and objective health factors affect the stress levels of the employees in the target organization (Van Agteren et al., 2021). He should use the sample to measure the level of readiness for change among the members of the target population to develop an effective health program. Epidemiological and behavioral factors are relevant for the population and should form part of John’s stress management program. An epidemiological assessment would include the determination of the social and physical factors likely to influence stress levels among the employees. The program should assess the current state of stress among the beneficiaries of the program and the use of mental health resources at the company (Van Agteren et al., 2021). He should use vital statistics to establish the health problems affecting the population and include the information in the planning for a health promotion program. An educational and ecological analysis is a critical part of the program since it highlights the predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors of health to facilitate intervention. A major characteristic among the population is that the employees have attained an educational qualification to work at the organization (Kim et al., 2022). A program targeting the employees of an organization does not need to assess the educational factors of health since the members of the population have attained education that makes them capable of contributing positively to their health and wellbeing. John should not conduct the educational assessment since the members of the population do not experience factors relating to education that may prevent positive behavior change. Administrative and policy diagnosis play a major role in policy implementation for the current program. John should evaluate the company’s policy on funding for health and wellness programs. Additionally, it is critical to evaluate the regulations regarding the wellbeing of the employees in organizations at the state and federal levels to determine how they may affect the planning and implementation of the program (Kim et al., 2022). When using the PRECEED-PRECEDE model of planning, John should consider how various regulatory frameworks affect how the organization improves the health of the employees. The implementation phase is one of the most important steps for the health program and it is critical to ensure that it aligns with the needs of the target beneficiaries. John can conduct the implementation phase by determining the requirements for the program and matching them with the needs of the target population. Stress management is a critical program that would improve the productivity of the company’s employees...
