It is a proposed bill that emphasizes on the need to offer a statewide evidence-based treatment services for children and family members exposed to domestic violence. The evidence is clear. There has been a strong and irrefutable link between domestic violence and child maltreatments. Unfortunately, at current, New Jersey does not have a strong policy that can fully address this issue with regard to adverse effects of this social problem to the most vulnerable targets “children and family members”. It is the high time to have a policy that is strong enough to offer statewide interventions that addresses domestic violence effects noting that the rates of this social issue reports an upward trend day after the other. I am an advocate for change especially on social matters as I believe in collective responsibility to make an economy excel. With limited potentials from physically, emotionally and psychologically tortured adult citizens and children who are to make the future citizens of New Jersey, I believe domestic violence will ruin every opportunity to excel as a State. I believe you are also an advocate for change on areas that concerns the well-being of New Jersey residents having been part of them since childhood. I humbly request for your inputs in making this policy a success trough prompt implementation to help the adversely affected population with funds, and effective services through qualified personnel’s to make New Jersey a better place for the current and incoming generations.
