Immigration Crisis at the Southern Border: Cruz vs. Cuellar Debate

[City, State] D.C U.S Senator Cruz, highlighted the ambiguity in immigration law that led to the massive influx on the southern border. The senator underscored that democrats usually block the crisis at the border to bring out solutions. According to Cruz, the trafficking of children by illegal immigrants caused nearly 30 per cent of family units to be falsified. Senator Cruz faulted the congress for the crisis at Rio Grande Valley as far as immigrants were concerned since it was the number one sector for the illegal crossings in the United States of America. In the op-ed for fox news, Senator Cruz urged the senate to pass legislation closing loopholes in the asylum system and at the same time increase the number of immigration judges. Further, Cruz suggested that securing the borders is by using EL Chapo's criminally fortified fortune to build a border wall. The wall would close the loopholes that offer provisions to illegal immigrants’ federal benefits and tax credits without necessarily affecting the benefits and tax credits used by Americans. On the other hand, Texas representative Henry Cuellar argues that the idea of republicans on the issue of border security is by building a wall while to his opinion, border security and the wall are different entities. Cuellar argues that the republicans equate the border security to the wall, but the wall has been breached 9,300 times in real sense. According to Cuellar, the wall would lead to delays at the borders, not forgetting that it would cost billions of money to erect.
