Evaluating Telehealth Accessibility: A Survey of Patient Experiences

Instructor’s Name Due Date Telehealth plays a significant role in the continuum of care for the elderly population, patients who need palliative care, persons with disabilities, and populations from remote areas where geography and accessibility are a problem. Some of the prevalent telehealth technologies that have been developed include mHealth, video and audio technologies, digital photography, and remote patient monitoring. During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, telehealth services were important for the elderly and vulnerable populations (). The young technology is a flexible and convenient way to provide healthcare services without face-to-face interactions and the widens accessibility to healthcare services. This survey purports to assess and improve health care through telehealth services. Conducting the survey will provide valuable insights from a vast population, enhancing the implementation and formulation of strategies in the healthcare industry for a more productive and engaging healthcare industry. Surveys are important in engaging a target population on their experience of particular services. Conducting a survey in the healthcare industry, especially on vulnerable populations shows patients that there are entities that genuinely value them by ensuring that they receive outstanding healthcare services. Through this survey, the stakeholders in the health industry can measure patient satisfaction and experience using telehealth services. It will also provide an understanding of patient preference and experience with telehealth services and gather essential information on industry trends and competition in the healthcare industry. Technology is continuously advancing in the healthcare industry hence there is a need for research and development to conquer the dynamic market. Responses to a survey assess patient satisfaction, preferences, industry standards, and feedback on the viability of telehealth services. The survey on telehealth services will involve both qualitative data (open-ended questions) and quantitative data (Close-end questions). This can be achieved through statistical analysis and assessing patient experience using questionnaires addressing both close-ended and open-ended questions. The sample of the survey will be approached with anonymity approaching persons from different diversities and geographical locations. The survey parameters include a sample size of 152, 78 males and 64 females determined through statistical levels and intended to achieve a 95 percent confidence level and a 5 percent margin error. It will also be administered using questionnaires to capture first-hand information.
