Due Date There are various types of cancer that affect the human body. The epidemiology of cancer attributed to GLOBOCAN 2018 shows that gastric cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death in the world following lung and colorectal cancer (Bray et al., 2018). Gastric cancer also named as stomach cancer represents a type of cancer characterized by nausea and vomiting, difficulty in swallowing, bloating frequently, feeling full even after eating small amounts of food, and indigestion. The other symptoms of stomach cancer included feeling tired, losing weight, and black stool. Gastric cancer is manifested by the growth of cells in the stomach. The stomach helps in breaking down and digesting food. Most stomach concerns in the United States begin through the gastroesophageal junction, a long tube that carries food as it meets the stomach. Stomach cancer does not manifest itself in the early stages, its symptoms are hidden. Early symptoms of gastric cancer are indigestion and pain in the upper belly of the stomach. Stomach cancer exhibits a fluid-filled stomach. The causes of stomach cancer have not yet been ascertained. The most evaluated cause of stomach cancer is genetic alterations and environmental factors (Sitarz et al., 2018). Early signs start with a long-term influx of acid, infection in the stomach, and eating of salty foods. The cancer begins when the inner cells of the stomach are triggered and the cells develop changes in the DNA which holds the cell’s instructions causing the cells to multiply quickly. The healthy cells die as part of the living cycle causing extra cells in the stomach to form a mass called a tumor.
