Embracing Risk: The Path to Entrepreneurial Success

Abstract

Personal Essay Risking defines a successful entrepreneur. It is a confirmation and confession I am making after risking my only saving into the lash business with high hopes of maneuvering and becoming a successful entrepreneur. When a person has little savings, one always remains torn between using the savings on starting a business or maintaining a low profile by letting the saving take some little time in one account to maintain its safety. I once found myself in such a disturbing situation two years ago. In the summer of 2019, the thought of becoming economically productive came over my mind. I intended not to bother my mother, whose urge to make my life smooth and my future blight remained defined. Her efforts to pay my college fee, loaning a car for my movement conveniences, paying for my physical fitness exercise, among other basics that determine a better life for any child, expressed it well. For this reason, I wished to engage myself in a mission that would offer a financial boost to my mother and my life in general. Becoming employed was my first thought. I started thinking of where I would get a job offer. I came up with a list of organizations within our locality where I thought of starting to drop my papers searching for a job offer within the same week as spending the summer idling proved among the most challenging experiences I would endure. I directed the thought of job searching to save my savings from unnecessary use as I was unsure whether I would be capable of generating any income in an otherwise approach. I shared my thoughts with one of my friends, whose response defined an alternative twist in my thoughts "Hi Julie, I think of sourcing a job since the summer proves irritating with nothing to do" Julie gave me a surprising look. In sarcastic laughter, Julie responded, " I would instead start sweeping the streets or start a shoe policing business than waste time searching for a job that might prove more irritating than spending the summer idling. " Be business-oriented; after all, that is also part of what all this education is all about, Julie added. I left Julie a confused person, but I felt that Julie meant whatever she told me deep within me. The following morning, though I initially had planned to start dropping my papers for job search, I found myself glued on my bed thinking Julies advice. It did not take long before I decided to give up on job searching and concentrate on sourcing different business ideas to start and manage with the bit of college savings. I thought of starting a hair salon and barbering. Still, the stress of getting qualifies persons who would help me deliver to the entire demands of the American population left me with no choice than abandoning the idea. However, my desire to start a beauty-related business did not vanish as I realized that becoming a lash tech was not so demanding in terms of labor and capital. I suddenly thought of my few pennies in a college savings account, and risking it for my business idea was the only option since I did not want to bother my mother with more financial strains. On the contrary, I desired an income-generating project that would help me boost her financially, especially with my car note and insurance.
