Abstract

Comment on Third Case Study The conduct of the executive demonstrates unlawful and unethical behavior in the workplace since he sexually harasses female employees in the organization. He breaks employment laws for failing to ensure that women have a safe workplace by harassing women in the organization. It is unethical for the executive to behave in a manner that risks the reputation and profitability of the organization. Since information about the harassment would have negative implications on the company, his conduct is unethical and unlawful. Moreover, the company’s ethics and responsibility towards female employees are an issue in the case since its actions promote an unsafe workplace for female workers (Hemel & Lund, 2018). The organization has a responsibility to protect the interest of all workers irrespective of the financial implications of firing the executive. Other senior employees may view the reluctance to replace the executive as support for sexual harassment and gender biasness in the workplace. The woman has a decision to make that will affect her, the company, and other potential victims of sexual harassment at the organization. Accepting the settlement would offer financial benefits and led to an end of the case. The history of the executive’s behavior demonstrates that he is likely to harass other women in the workplace and the consequences pose an ethical issue for the woman. She could take the financial settlement that prevents her from speaking about the incident or the case which would lead to monetary value (Monroe, 2020). The option would expose other female employees in the organization to the risk of sexual harassment by the executive.
