Topic: Over prescription and Addiction Research Question: How the over prescription of drugs can lead to increased addiction in the United States Introduction There is a simple saying that states that too much of something is poisonous. Drug prescription defines dependence on the drug on the victim attributed to brain and body adaptation of the drug. Over prescription implies that the patient gets an overdose regardless of whether the medication fits the noted health problem. To this effect, the level of dependency increases, dictating severe addictions in the victim with uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms upon stopping taking such drugs. Americans are among the primary victims of over prescriptions that enhance addictions to opioid analgesics claiming many lives in the long run. It is imperative to note that the fastest-growing drug problem in America is not illegal drugs addictions but instead prescription drugs addictions that profoundly affect many youths posing a threat to the future of such a generation. The topic of study is of great relevance as overdose on prescription drugs proves a threat to many Americans; thus, the need for prompt address before the situation gets out of control. One can define over prescription as prescription drug abuse and misuse attributed to inappropriate medication, which many Americans exercise by taking prescription drugs without a prescription or ignorance of a prescription. Generally, most people yearn for ample sleep, especially after a great day at work. Stress also enhances one's urge to engage in a relaxing mood to forget the pressures. Such forces play a significant role in driving many Americans to overdose prescription drugs to manage anxiety or gain ample rest through sleep, which becomes a norm leading to high addictions to such drugs. Over-prescription affects the normal functioning of the body and brains as they become exposed to conditioning that demands attention. For instance, when a person occasionally exposes their body to taking opioids, even when the need for it is not defined, the body and the brains become conditioned that they cannot function properly without such a drug.
