Abstract
Security features in Linux For decades, the Linux operating system group has won the admiration of technology professionals for its simplicity and functionality. . Unlike Windows, Linux is open-source software, which means it's available to everyone for free. Security has been a cornerstone of the Linux operating system since its inception. From the start, Linux has been quite secure, especially compared to other operating systems such as MacOS or Windows. Even so, it's good to build on that, starting with these tools. Unlike windows where everyone can be an admin, Linux restrict root access through user privilege model. The Linux kernel has got an array of security defenses that provide the highest level of security. A major security feature of Linux is has got a firewall. By default, Linux ships with a firewall tool called iptables . However, since it is quite difficult to use, people mostly use front-ends, with Gufw firewall being a popular choice. It is in fact a front end for the uncomplicated firewall, itself based on iptables. Another security feature in Linux is password manager, Keepass and KeepassXC. Long passwords in Linux help protect your accounts from people other than you (Morris 76). The third security feature in Linux is Malware Scanner: ClamAV.
