Balancing Self-Care and Obligations: Kants Perspective on Achieving Happiness

Excellent post! To some extent, I agree with you on Kant's views on the distinction between our obligations to ourselves and those we owe to others. One of the most important things to remember when it comes to achieving your full potential or "perfectness" is to take good care of yourself first. For me, it's easier to do or strive to do other things when I'm content and doing well. As a result, I become lethargic and demotivated, which increases my risk of failing. To increase the happiness of others, I believe Kant is implying that our activities have an impact on those around us. When you're at work and not feeling your best, it's possible that your coworkers will feel the same way. However, if you arrive at work with a happy frame of mind, you may be able to influence the mindsets of your coworkers or simply add to the great energy already present. Simple deeds of kindness go a long way toward making people happier. Making someone smile and say hello when you see them, holding the door open for them, or even complementing them can go a long way to brighten their day.
