Abstract
Section Three: Rehabilitation of Juvenile Offenders It is evident that identifying delinquency risk factors and addressing the issues when the offender is young could prevent juvenile delinquency (Reil et al., 2020). Having such insights serves as strong pillars in effecting the process of rehabilitating offenders. It is vital to understand how best to handle and convince an offender to abandon the crime life and embrace lawful behaviors with rehabilitation. At Wrap-Around c Community Center, rehabilitating offenders is primarily aimed at assisting the juveniles and youth adults in correcting their antisocial behaviors and living harmoniously with the other members of the society. For this reason, the need for program-based approaches serves as the key to affecting this process. Since the Wrap-Around Community Center aims at helping as many offenders as possible, the need to conduct an assessment on each offender to assess their needs is essential. It is clear that offences are different, so understanding each offender's weight is essential in formulating the right treatment methods for various criminal offences. Having noted rising rates of juvenile delinquency within Citrus Bend, not ignoring the adult criminals, developing a rehabilitation plan that the Wrap-Around Community Center personnel will use to guide the offenders is essential in enhancing the reformation process. A detailed rehabilitation plan will not only offer remedies in treating offenders with the same needs. Still, it will also allow offenders to understand their worth within society, thus feeling the need for reformation (Astuti, Hardjanto and Ziliwu, 2018). Following the rehabilitation program and success in the reformation process need to be backed up by defined conditional reinforcements such as rewards and punishments. For instance, the drug offenders must become conditioned to promise that if they manage to overcome the drug problem by the end of the rehabilitation process, the Wrap-Around Community Center will reward them with jobs and chances to get an education. At the same time, the punishment would be the vice versa. With such an approach, the offenders can become rehabilitated to the fullest. The other way of rehabilitating the offenders is through a thorough assessment of the environment among other forces that subject them to committing the crime. As detailed earlier, Citrus Bend has defined influences that enhance juvenile and youth urge to engage crime, starting from limited education chances, to low employment to mention a few. With the recreation center, the offenders will understand that they can be more productive if they engage themselves in more productive activities like becoming educated. With Bright Academy's availability, the juvenile offenders can get a chance to continue with their education with a promise that if they do well in their studies, they will receive a scholarship to further their studies. Such an approach will help them get better jobs and aid in raising the standards of living within Citrus Bend and the entire Panther County. Understanding forces that drive crime rates amongst the offenders will also help provide a healthy environment that will offer the offenders another perspective of life within Citrus Bend (Astuti, Hardjanto and Ziliwu, 2018). For instance, the unhealthy company that many juveniles find themselves in as attributed to their parent’s low living standards can be a thing of the past when the offenders within the rehabilitation center become educated on various ways of overcoming unemployment through self-employment. Since not all people benefit with the white color jobs as attributed to education levels among other factors, the offenders need to become taught on how to become entrepreneurs through the employment of self-gained skills like carpentry, barbering, masonries among other skills. Skill development is another approach through...
