Abstract

Control Measures to Alleviate a Poorly Managed Program Effective communication heals all ills (Adiguzel, 2019). To this effect, having noted the downfalls of this program, as a new coach, it is imperative to understand the required change, plan for it, implement it and then communicate it to the team. For this program, the best remedy is to have a one-on-one conversation with athletes to hear and understand their stories regarding their poor performance/views towards the overall management of this program. Through their responses, one can understand the root cause of the program failures, which will pave the way for the most appropriate strategies to alleviate the current situation. After analyzing the situation based on communication responses, it is imperative to analyze the situation as a leader to understand what needs to be changed and what needs to replace it. For example, changing the practice style if it proves insufficient and improving on coaching style through new ideas and improving on time. As the new coach, it is imperative to analyze the athlete's potentials while training them to understand how to group them based on their potential. The coach must instruct in the most relevant skills, which is best achieved through providing encouragement and ensuring the athlete feels appreciated at all times. The athlete takes correction as a compliment which implies that the new coach must win the players' trust to allow for honest communication and fearless play, which will excellently revive this falling program. It is also essential to check on athlete incentives because dissatisfaction in such an area can foster their negative attitude towards the entire program and their performance in general.
