Abstract
The effectiveness of business management will determine the success of the company. Every leader in the organization should consider best practices and motivate the employees. The film office space is directed and written by mike judge and talks about a young software engineer, Peter Gibbons. Gibbons is an employee at Initech, and is undermined, underpaid and frustrated making him to lead a rebellion against his supervisors. Initech is a software company where employees are unhappy and unmotivated .When it comes to leadership in the company, there is no mutual respect. Throughout the film there are many unethical and ethical issues such as conflict of interest. Bill Lumbergh is the vice president of the company and has failed to manage innovation and change in the company. He mistreats employees such s Peter Gibbons and Michael Bolton. The company swe old equipment and its leaders have failed to promote and manage the resources. This situation affects the business performance and innovation. The film goes further to explain why most of the employees became bitter. The employees decided to destroy the firm. The organization was dismissing most of its workers without any valid explanation. The leaders did not address the challenges and problems affecting the employees. This practice affected the company’s performance. The employees destroyed the firm because of the poor leadership strategies. The film explores why the kind of leadership at the organization affected its performance. The company’s leaders did not support the employees’ goals and needs. The leaders did not mentor the employees in order to realize their goals. Leaders should engage their workers in every decision-making process. The firm did not allow the employees to present their problems in a better manner.
