Impact of Social Media on Youth Mental Health and Well-being

I got a great number of sources with generalized topics on the effects of social media on mental health. I decided to narrow down my search to understand how online social networks affects college students and for this I decided to reframe my research question to “How does the use of online social networks impact mental health and the general social well-being of youths.” With such a direct question I managed to get a number of sources addressing effects of social networking on teenagers and adolescent. I choose an article from an official website of the United States government (National Library of Medicine) to be able to get credible information on how social media use affects adolescents and youths mental health as such a website will offer the exact experiences happening on the ground to such targets thus of great merit to this research.
