A generalizable selection test can be helpful, but there are additional things to consider when selecting a test. The test's validity is one of the important criteria to consider. A valid selection exam assesses the abilities that are relevant to the job. In contrast, a flawed selection process could result in the business spending money on recruiting the incorrect people (Horvath et al., 2000). Consequently, it is crucial to confirm the validity of the selection test before utilizing it. The validity of the selection test should be taken into consideration as well. A valid exam assesses occupational abilities over time consistently. Unreliable testing can result in inconsistent findings, which can also result in employing incorrect individuals. Consequently, it is crucial to confirm the validity of the selection test before utilizing it. Considering the legal ramifications of using a selection test is also important. Companies must ensure that any protected group, such as age, gender, or color, is not discriminated against in the selection process (Horvath et al., 2000). If a test is discriminatory, the organization may face legal repercussions. Consequently, before applying a selection test, it is crucial to confirm that it does not bias against any protected group. Question 2 For various reasons, some people may respond badly to a certain selection technique. These include bias against the minority. Potential employees are likelier to object if they believe the selection process is unfair or discriminatory. An applicant may believe that the interviewer is prejudiced against them or does not ask them the appropriate questions if an interview is part of the selection process. Fear of the unknown is another contributing factor. Applicants may react adversely to assessment tools they have never seen, such as personality or intelligence exams. Applicants could be anxious that they will not do well on the test or that it would expose sensitive facts about them. Finally, applicants may have a poor attitude toward non-job-related selection procedures.
