The company was founded in 2015 with five beefsteak locations around the country. The company's founder is Jose Andres, also the president of ThinkFoodGroup yet named among the 100 most outstanding chefs by the James Beard Foundation. Unlike their peers (competitors), Beefsteak has Jose Andres as a celebrity chef. Beefsteak's Business model is differentiation and a customer selection strategy manifesting a vegetable-based restaurant and the restaurant's customer base is vegans. The company is not purely vegetarian but puts veggies at the center of its food flavorings and deals with organic fresh farm produce. Beefsteak refers to America’s bounty in a bowl. This bowl offers a customer-friendly course meal The starter of the bowl may include, a choice of grains a house-made sauce, and then freshly cooked vegetables. Next can be perhaps some meat, then fresh and crunchy -from crisp greens to sesame seeds to kimchi. This gives the customer to enjoy the diversity and satisfaction of various food choices. The food is real food, really quick, and really good. The industry is segmented in a highly competitive space, i.e., one million restaurants in the United States, It strives to elevate the lowly vegetable into a crave-worthy entree. The company’s idea is to ensure that people find satisfaction in the various flavors of vegetables that satisfy their cravings. Beefsteak is very protective of its brand and it prefers a licensing partner which will be very effective in executing its brand and expanding quickly. The company also strives to give back to the community, create jobs, and enhance environmental sustainability. Recruiting Strategy: Three Sequential Stages Beefsteak strives to create a culture in its restaurant that is appealing to its guests and enhance the solidness of its brand and consistency of its product across all its branches amid huge competition in the market. Recruitment is the main function of the HR department and the first step towards a competitive and strategic advantage of a company (Hamza et al., 2021). The recruiting process takes place through applications and interviews to tap talent and potential. To achieve this, the company will need skilled and trained personnel to effectively execute the company’s objective, and this can be achieved through the recruiting process in three sequential stages; sourcing, assessing, and employing potential workers. Sourcing; A hiring company for instance Beefsteak needs to source talent with skills and competencies amid huge talent in the workforce, hence needing filtering by hiring beyond regular employees. Before opening a job application process, it is necessary to look at the internal talent to determine if an employee deserves a promotion to save time and resources. Talent can also be sourced from job applications on company websites and job websites such as Linked In where talent is identified through educational and professional experience, skills and competencies, and a person’s image brand. Talent can also be sourced through employee referrals, employment agencies, and advertising. Assessing; This process involves screening and selection of talent. Assessment is done through interviews, where employers’ question problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Assessing also their emotional intelligence and agility in the workplace. Assessing also involves motivation in the workplace and past achievements. Companies have intense culture, and it is essential to assess if the candidates are culturally fit. Organizations are dynamic and assess employees that are adaptive and willing to learn. Employing; Employing is the last stage of the recruiting process.
