Abstract
Leadership Interview Report [Name] I choose this public figure because she has expressed her potentials in leadership beyond reasonable doubt in America which proves a male domineering field. I believe that her roles as a leader remains defined through her decades of service in public life having served as a lawyer, first lady, senator as well as the secretary of state and 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee. I formulated open-ended-questions that allowed my interviewee to give detailed responses regarding leadership as her passion and as a profession. While responding about leadership inspirations and philosophy, Clinton confirmed her early exposure to public service through community activities and her mother citing that her desires to lead remained grounded on her belief to make tangible impact on people live. She defined effective leadership as a leader’s ability to empower, inspire and unite people towards achieving a mutual goal which aligns with transformational leadership theory. The theory pays special attention on vision, inspiration and team-building as key aspects that defines a leader. She served so well as a transformer making many see the strengths of a woman even in politics especially during her strong presidential bid in 2016. Clinton also gave a very educative response in regard to challenges that leaders encounter. She highlighted the power to navigate gender biases as the most challenging problem in leadership. During her early career as a leader, she faced rejection and humiliation because she was a woman trying to get a way through the political world which many American believe is fit for male gender. These are experiences that can be well analyzed through the trait theory of leadership lens. Through this theory, resilience proves a powerful trait that remains essential for leadership success. She remained focused regardless of the rejections she was facing from the male counterparts as she wanted to prove that gender had nothing to do with one’s potential as long as one feels gifted and potentially able.
