Abstract

Companies attempt to build a structure that allows them to efficiently navigate varied foreign market situations and harness significant business knowledge while organizing for global marketing. In this section, I will describe three choices for global organization structures, their benefits and drawbacks, and the need of striking a balance between autonomy and integration. The global product division structure splits the company into self-contained divisions that are responsible for individual goods in worldwide markets. This structure enables targeted product expertise, personalized strategies, and rapid reaction to market-specific demands. It boosts innovation and accelerates product development and marketing. However, drawbacks include potential function duplication between divisions, insufficient coordination, and challenges in sharing information and best practices across product lines. Geographic Area Structure: The geographic area structure divides activities into areas or countries, each with its own management and resources. This framework allows for local market customisation, effective responsiveness to regional variations, and a better awareness of cultural differences. It enables effective resource distribution within defined locations. Nonetheless, issues like as function duplication between areas, ensuring global consistency, and coordinating and integrating activities across different regions can develop. In global organizational frameworks, striking a balance between autonomy and integration is critical. Local units can be autonomous and make educated decisions in response to individual market conditions, but integration guarantees coordination, consistency, and the sharing of knowledge and resources. Finding the appropriate balance maximizes efficiency, avoids duplication, and capitalizes on synergies. The level of autonomy and integration necessary varies depending on the global organization structure chosen. A worldwide product division structure, for example, may provide divisions more autonomy to use product expertise, whereas a geographic area structure may encourage closer integration for consistency across areas.
