Abstract
Paper 2: Historical Entrepreneur Henry Ford. Entrepreneurs shape how the world operates. America has the most successful entrepreneurs globally, and Henry Ford is one of them. Henry Ford is a native-born American, an industrialist, and a successful entrepreneur in history. He was the founder of the Ford Motor Company in 1903 and the chief developer of the assembly line technique of mass production. Henry Ford is regarded as a man who taught America to drive. He founded his company when America needed him the most. Horseless carriages were the available toys then and were expensive, only meant for the wealthy, yet Ford’s innovative vision sparkled reliable, fast, and affordable automobiles sparkling the modern industrial revolution. Ford was a hardworking man well off but not wealthy. He completed his apprenticeship in Detroit Dry Cock Company and, in 1891, met Thomas Edison, who shared with him the idea of automobiles. Where he then developed two prototypes that he used to develop the Detroit Automobile Company, but it was short-lived since they did not meet the required standards. He then founded the Cadillac Motor Company, which also failed. The third attempt was Ford Motor Company, which is now a concern impacting the globe. The story of Ford is very inspirational. Entrepreneurs identify a problem that is in society and try to find a solution for it. They are also innovative and focused. Ford collected knowledge and skills from the Detroit Dry Cock Company and used them to better himself in the automobile field. He took a risk thrice in an attempt to start his company, and eventually, he succeeded. He is an inspiration that we ought to take risks in starting our business.
