Abstract
[University] School shootings are common in middle and elementary schools compared to college universities. Immaturity is one aspect that prompts school shootings. Most students in elementary and high schools are immature compared to those in colleges. Teenagers in high and elementary schools get amused at petty things and get amused easily solve their problems with gun violence. At this, they are not fully developed, and they are likely to succumb to risker choices. School bullying is also common in elementary and high school compared to college universities which prompts cases of revenge through gun violence. Most shootings in colleges result from mental illness and childhood trauma. Universities are places of diversity involving immigrants, people of different races, and other cultures and ethnicities. Racism, exclusion of immigrants, and discrimination are the factors that purport to university shootings. These factors make students disconnected from their university life. Most college students own guns legally, which gives them the autonomy to use guns. The freedom and legality to use guns give them the privilege to abuse the laws and exercise power over their compatriots. School shootings have a root cause.
