Abstract

[Name] For nurses to be in a position to attain the nurse title, they must undergo education to equip and prepare them for their future careers. Therefore, the nursing experience is acquired from the college and extended to professionalism in actual practice. Through this experience, the nurses can know that knowledge in a research study is usable for clinical practice. The experience guides the nurses to make the correct choices as far as research outcomes are concerned. They use the research in the clinical practice in which, through consistency, it makes the nurses become believers of evidence-based practice (Profetto-McGrath, 2005). On the other hand, critical thinkers should be open-minded to identify what is appropriate in the evidence before coming up with conclusions about possible changes. Critical thinking is vital for evidence-based nursing care and practice since it supports the nursing practice. Critical thinking positively contributes to the patients' outcomes, and in knowing this, a critical thinker would look for the number of positive outcomes and effectiveness and their credibility. In this case, therefore, critical thinkers should consider these factors before deciding on any change (Profetto-McGrath, 2005). Clinical significance should also be crucial across different locations and settings. Clinical significance and credibility influence the decision to integrate research-based evidence into the practice. Research-based evidence is evaluated for its credibility before incorporating it into clinical practice. At this point, the credible ones are then sorted and combined with the clinical practice. Therefore, credibility refers to the trustworthiness of the research-based evidence. On the other hand, the clinical significance is the impact of study results on clinical practice, which translates to the proportionality of the number of positive patient outcomes, which is further evaluated before clinical practice integration (Profetto-McGrath, 2005).
