Abstract
Module 5 Discussion: Victimless Crime Victimless crime is an illegal activity that is performed by one or two persons that consents to be engage in such an act. To this effect, victimless act directly involves only the active perpetrator or consenting adults leading to no harm, injury or violation to any other person/party except those actively engaged in the illegal act (Jubaeret al., 2021). For instance when people or a person engages in sexual pleasures between consenting parties, recreation drug use like marijuana use while alone at home. Such examples may not have any effects on any other person except for those engaging in them but that does not justify such acts as good/moral thus the need to understand the effects of using “victimless crime” to define illegal and evil acts. I believe regardless of how other people may perceive victimless crime, it is a misleading term that makes many take advantage of its non-victim nature to enable them engage in shameful acts. For instance one may justify that taking marijuana while alone at home does not violate any other persons right or peace but that does not stop the health negative effects that such a drug may have upon continued abuse. For this reason, there is the need to treat an illegal crime as illegal regardless of whether the crime directly or indirectly affects other victims because it might cost other people quite a hugely if the affected consenting parties situation worsen and calls for their attention. Example if such drug abuser gets health complication and demands attention of other parties to restore such a spoilt health.
