Scenario You are the Human Resources Generalist for Hoffman Industries. The leadership team of Hoffman Industries has decided to expand its operations within the United States to increase production and reduce labor costs. The new plant is expected to be up and running with nine (9) months. A recruitment and selection plan needs to be developed, which includes use of technology and social media. You, together with your manager, the Vice President of Human Resources, will provide the leadership team with a plan to staff the new plant. Directions Throughout this course, you will develop and submit sections of your staffing plan for review. Your staffing plan will contain an ethical recruitment and selection process for Hoffman Industries. You will compare the advantages and disadvantages of external and internal recruitment using technology and social media. Each section will become part of your final Portfolio Project, which will be the final proposed presentation to your leadership team. The final submission of your staffing plan will be a Word document with a minimum of 1,500 words and include the following: Title Page Introduction Laws, regulation, and ethical considerations impacting the hiring process Internal vs. external recruitment Utilizing technology; social media Selecting candidates Making the job offer Conclusion Reference Page Requirements and Formatting Your Portfolio Project must be formatted as follows: Must adhere to APA guidelines. DeadlineDeliverable items for the Portfolio Project will be required at different points during the course. Details for each submission are included below in the Deliverable Descriptions. Deliverable Descriptions Week 2: Staffing Plan Outline and Introduction Due by the end of Week 2 at 11:59 pm, ET. Submit your Staffing Plan Outline and Introduction. The outline will consist of the Title Page, Introduction, and at least one (1) reference included with the Reference Page for your Portfolio Project. You will submit it as a Word document, following the guidelines listed under Requirements and Formatting. Week 4: Rough Draft – 1st Half of Staffing Plan Due by the end of Week 4 at 11:59 pm, ET. Complete the first half of your Staffing Plan. You will add at least three (3) topics listed under the Directions above, to the Title Page and Introduction. The three (3) topics listed above include at minimum: Laws, regulations, and ethical considerations impacting the hiring process; Internal vs. external recruitment; and Utilizing technology; social media. Week 6: Rough Draft – Final Staffing Plan Due by the end of Week 6 at 11:59 pm, ET. Expand on your first rough draft to include the remaining three (3) sections of your Staffing Plan: Selecting candidates; Making the job offer; and the Conclusion. Make sure that you are following all Requirements and Formatting guidelines. When completed, you will have a draft of your entire Portfolio Project. This reflection will be delivered orally in the format of a PowerPoint with Voiceover. The total recording should be 3-5 minutes in length.
