CRJU 304 Theory Final Paper Instructions For this assignment, you will be discussing the relationship between criminological theory and your chosen film or television show. There is a list of films or television shows for you to choose from at the end of this document. You will choose a pop culture depiction of a criminal and use 2 theories to explain their criminal behavior. Your final paper will deeply and critically engage these 2 theories and will propose a policy or program, based on the selected theories, that could reduce crime. Introduction (<1 page) Your introduction should clearly state the thesis and goal of the paper and outline what your paper is going to discuss. Summary of Film or Television Show (< 1 page) Provide a brief summary of the film or television show. Make sure to provide an overview of the criminal activity that is depicted. Theoretical Discussion (~4 pages) Discuss in depth 2 theoretical frameworks to explain the criminal involvement discussed in your summary section. Describe the main tenets of each theory What does the theory say is the cause of crime? Who are the theorists? What are the variables and tenets? How does this theory explain crime? Be thorough! The discussion of your theories must come from the course materials and lectures.
