Abstract
ENG 102 [Instructor Name] Analysis Research Paper Length: 4-5 pages (plus Works Cited) See schedule for due dates For your final paper, you will incorporate all of the writing skills you’ve been practicing this semester: summary, critique, argument, and synthesis. You will incorporate these skills into an analysis related to a topic of your choice. Preferably, choose an argument related to your chosen academic major or minor or something relevant today. While your paper will emphasize your own ideas, your integration of these scholarly, credible secondary texts will serve to help inform your perspective. Use Ferrum library’s One Search or Google Scholar to find peer-reviewed sources. A basic Google search does not produce academic sources. Do not paraphrase, summarize, and quote from these sources extensively. Essays need to be typed in Times New Roman 12” font and follow MLA format for all parenthetical in-text citations and works cited page. (See Brightspace for MLA formatting.) Format: Your analysis is a form of argument. Remember to concede to your opposition and provide refutations (counterarguments for your opposition). As in the argument essay, you should demonstrate effective unity, organization, coherence, and correctness. Here are some...
