Abstract
Assignment 6 The term admissible implies the act of being conceded or allowed. For example, a statement being admissible means it is permissible evidence legally admissible in court. In our case scenario, the accused has given out three contradicting statements, with the witnessesβ stamen making four statements on the current case. All four statements are equally admissible as their evidence tends to prove or disapprove of a fact at issue in the present case. It is imperative to note that the case concerns a fight where one victim is wounded while the other has a knife. The assumptions are either the injured or the one holding the knife started the fight. To this effect, any statement that can define the origin of the scenario proves relevant in the case. However, the four statements though admissible, contradict each other. The witnesses accuse George (the accused) of starting the fight and stubbing his colleague. In his first statement, George testifies that he used the knife for self-defense when the man shoved him and demanded his money after leaving the store. Such a statement makes George responsible for stabbing the man regardless of whether he was defending himself but subjected the other man to an accusation of robbery with violence. George makes a second statement in which he accuses the other man of having the knife though he wrestled for it with success. Such a statement aims to limit the charged accusations and place the blame on the other man. In his third statement, George argues that two guys attacked him, and one ran off after the accidental stub on one of his attackers.
