According to (Chater et al., 2018), cognition links to rationality, judgment, and views in perception essential in decision-making and drawing perception in cognitive sciences. The complexity of healthcare systems requires knowledge and capacity to meet demands. The characteristics fostered in interdisciplinary studies include intellectual capacities, values, traits, and skills. As a nursing student, the career's most relevant characteristics are skills and values. Values are essential in a nursing career. They are related to high patient care, increased patient satisfaction, organizational performance, and occupational satisfaction. According to (Poorchangizi et al., 2019), values provide a core basis for decision-making, establish a framework for evaluating behavior, and reflect the nursing profession's human and spiritual approach. Some of the values include; empathy, civic engagement, humility, appreciation of diversity, ethical consciousness, and tolerance of ambiguity. These values can be developed through learning in classes and professional socialization. In an ever-changing world of diversity, a nurse has to possess the values to handle patients regardless of their religion, race, nationality, ethnicity, or culture. in the nursing profession. We have to deal with ethics daily. Ethical consciousness is a basis for quick and accurate decision-making, especially in crises and emergencies. Working in a healthcare setting is very emotional dealing with loss and sick patients. Empathy is essential in handling patients and families in hospital settings to deal with their grief and pains. Values are important as a nurse creating a framework for assessing nursing strategies, goals, and actions. Skills are unique professional tools in a clinical setting. As a nurse, some critical skills include critical thinking, abstract thinking, metacognition, and communication competence. Abstract and critical thinking are among the strategies that are best in a nurse's capacity. The complexity and expansion of roles in the healthcare systems need thinking.
